The University of Sydney has announced significant updates to its Bachelor of Commerce and combined degree programs for 2027, introducing revised core units, updated majors and minors, and enhanced learning outcomes to better prepare students for future careers.

Key Curriculum Updates

The revised curriculum includes:

• Four new core units of study.
• Updated learning outcomes across the program.
• A streamlined structure for majors and minors.
• Expanded and renamed study options in selected disciplines.

Some of the major updates include:

• Accounting becomes Accounting, Governance and Regulation.
• Business Information Systems becomes Digital Business.
• Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management becomes Human Resource Management and Employment Relations.
• International Business becomes Global Business.
• Finance will now include a minor option alongside the major.

Application Transition Arrangements

The University has confirmed that all applicants for the previous Bachelor of Commerce programs will automatically transition to the updated degrees.

Application outcomes include:

• Accepted students will receive a new unconditional offer with no changes to their Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
• Conditional offer holders will receive updated conditional offers.
• Pending applications will continue to be assessed under the revised program structure.
• Students with active credit applications will receive further guidance on submitting updated credit requests.
