Register for the right test

IELTS offers a range of tests, giving you the flexibility to choose the right test for your needs.

Before you book your IELTS test, make sure you visit the relevant government or institutional websites to confirm which test you need to take, as government agencies, institutions and other recognising organisations set their own IELTS entry requirements.

Where you want to study, work or migrate to will affect which test you need to take. If you want to go to the United Kingdom, you may need to take an IELTS for UKVI. This can either be an IELTS for UKVI Academic, IELTS for UKVI General Training or a Life Skills A1, A2 or B1.

  • Decide which IELTS test and format you want, then proceed to book your test.
  • Have a valid and original ID (Passport or CNIC) ready to upload during booking and bring it on test day.
  • Contact your local test centre if unsure about your ID’s validity.
  • Candidates under 18 must provide a completed consent form from a parent or guardian at the time of the Speaking test.
