La Trobe Introduces New AI Engineering Degree for 2027
La Trobe University has announced the launch of its new Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence Engineering (Honors), with applications now open for the first cohort commencing in Semester 1, 2027.
The new degree was developed with industry partners Cisco and Rockwell Automation, Inc., to prepare students to design, build, manage and support AI systems.
Focus on Artificial Intelligence and Engineering
According to La Trobe’s September 2026 partner update, the new program is designed to help develop Australia’s next generation of AI-ready professionals.
The degree combines artificial intelligence with engineering concepts and is intended to provide students with skills relevant to the evolving technology sector.
La Trobe currently lists the Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence Engineering (Honors) among its international scholarship-eligible courses for 2026 and 2027.
