The IELTS test is designed to assess the English language proficiency of non-native speakers of English. The test measures four key language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The test is available in two formats: Academic and General Training. The Academic module is designed for those who wish to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, while the General Training module is for those who wish to migrate to an English-speaking country or seek employment in an English-speaking environment. In Pakistan, AEO Pakistan, British Council and IDP Pakistan are the three authorized test centers for IELTS.
In this guide, we will discuss how to book an IELTS test in Pakistan with AEO Pakistan, one of the most trusted and experienced IELTS test centres.
Step 1: Choose Your Test Type
There are two types of IELTS tests: Academic and General Training. The Academic test is for those who want to study at a university or college abroad, while the General Training test is for those who want to work or settle in an English-speaking country. Choose the test type that is appropriate for your purpose.
Step 2: Check the Test Dates and Centers
AEO Pakistan conducts IELTS tests at multiple locations (18 cities major cities) throughout Pakistan. Check the AEO Pakistan’s website for available test dates and centers. Select a test center that is convenient for you and has an available test date that suits your schedule.
Presently AEO Pakistan is offering IELTS testing across 18 major cities of Pakistan including, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Peshawar, Sialkot, Abbottabad, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Hyderabad, Jhelum, Bahawalpur, Swat, Mirpur, Burewala, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Swat and Mandi Bahauddin.
Step 3: Register for the Test
Once you have selected the test center and test date, you can register for the test on the AEO Pakistan website. Fill out the registration form with your personal details, including your name, date of birth, and passport or national ID number.
Step 4: Pay the Test Fee
After submitting your registration form, you will be directed to the payment page. The IELTS test fee in Pakistan varies depending on the location and test type. You can pay the fee online using a credit or debit card (or through other options mentioned on the website).
Step 5: Receive Confirmation and Instructions
After completing your registration and payment, you will receive a confirmation email from AEO Pakistan. This email will contain your test date, test center location, and instructions on what to bring on the test day. Make sure to read the instructions carefully and follow them.
Step 6: Prepare for the Test
Preparing for the IELTS test is essential to achieve your desired score. There are numerous resources available online, including practice tests, study guides, and online courses. You can also join an IELTS preparation class at AEO Pakistan or other language institutes.

Step 7: Take the Test
On the test day, arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled test time. Bring your original passport or national ID card, as well as the same identification document used during the registration process. The test will take approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete. After the test, you will receive your test results within 13 days (depending upon test types).
