UNSW College Announces New GPA Requirements and Student Services Fee Updates
UNSW College has announced several important updates affecting Foundation Studies students and future program intakes, including revised GPA requirements and the introduction of a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Updated GPA Requirements for Foundation Studies
From 25 May 2026, UNSW has implemented updated GPA requirements for students progressing from Foundation Studies into UNSW bachelor’s degree programs.
The new GPA requirements will apply to all newly issued Foundation Studies packaged offers.
Key Changes for Current Applicants
Students should note the following conditions:
Offered Status
Students who request a program change or defer their studies to a future intake will be assessed under the new GPA requirements.
Accepted Status with Deferral
Students who have already accepted their offer and later request a deferral will retain their original GPA requirements.
Accepted Status with Program Change
Students who have accepted an offer but request a program change will be subject to the updated GPA requirements.
Students are advised to carefully review applicable GPA criteria before making decisions regarding program changes or deferrals.
New Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
UNSW College has also announced that from 1 July 2026, all new offers issued for:
- Transition Program
- Standard Foundation Studies
- Standard Plus Foundation Studies
commencing in 2027 will include a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).

The fee will provide students with access to Arc@UNSW services, including:
- More Than 300 Student-Run Clubs And Societies
- Volunteer Programs
- Social Sport And Fitness Classes
- Mental Health And Wellbeing Events
- The Arc Food Hub
- Legal And Financial Counselling Services
These services are designed to enhance the student experience and provide additional support throughout their studies.
